Status Update

Ummm … hello? Hello? This thing on?

So, it’s been over a month since there has been any sort of activity from us here at Stands In Fire, and I figured it was time to pop in and give a status update.

As you some of you may know, I have spent the last six weeks hospitalized with two broken legs and a fractured spine.  I guess that’s what one gets for falling off a second floor balcony due to one’s own stupidity (and yes I was sober which makes the whole incident even more embarrassing).  Unfortunately I’m still in the hospital (hooray for laptops and free wifi!), and realistically will be for another 6-8 weeks.  And in the interim, James has gone through the hassle of buying a house, and handling all the moving on his own, so he’s been a little busy too.

So where does that leave the podcast and FACTIONED?

Lost and floating to the darkest recesses of the internet, where once popular memes go to die in a room filled with rabid squirrels and unicorns (yeah, wrap your head around that)

Honestly, I have no idea, but we’re not done, not yet.  We do intend to continue with the podcast, but then the next question would be “when?” Best answer I can give you is “when I am released from the hospital”, which as mentioned above could be another 6-8 weeks, even longer.

But we do have plans already in the works.  The podcast will continue, and with a semi-regular host in addition to myself and James.  I’ve begun writing the next series of FACTIONED.  And we’ve also started recording gameplay videos with Amy and myself (which mostly consist of Amy trying not rage at me for my lack of skills).

So hang in there with us as we try to get Real Life back under control.  We’re all eager to getting back to creating content that we all can enjoy.  Hopefully sooner than later, just keep an eye out.

Peace,

Matthew/Mal A’menz

p.s. and thank you to everyone for the kind thoughts and well wishes, it was and is greatly appreciated.

The stunning conclusion to the drunken podcast where Jake goes off on a tirade of Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag, a retelling of our 3 hour wait for Elder Scrolls Online, and Matthew yelling at everyone.

Alcohol, PAX East, and good friends.  The kinda promised drunk podcast with our friends from THI Gaming.  So big, so epic we have to split it up in two parts.  In this part we talk about Blizzards disappointing announcement, Neverwinter hands-on, our surprised enthusiasm for WildStar, Thoughts on the latest Tomb Raider, and someone starting a mosh pit at the Curse party … and thats just from part 1.

Happy St. Patrick’s Day!  It is the week before PAX East, and the brothers couldn’t be more excited for their trip.  In addition to which Matthew gushes over the latest The Secret World issue “Last Train to Cairo”.  They also cover other news including Wildstar’s new video preview, EA’s “unhackable” DRM, and the new Doctor Who trailer.

This week we are very excited to say “Congratulations” to Amelia for her winning entry in the TSW Music Contest.  As much as we could easily spend an entire episode gushing over Amelia, the brothers do manage to talk about Red Thread Games successful Kickstarter, Torment: Tides of Numenera and Lord British’s own Kickstarter.  And of course, EA gave some cannon fodder this week too.

The brothers are back after a spontaneous week off with a shit-ton of Blizzard news, Funcom restructuring results, and a little Playstation 4 discussion.  They also talk about EVE Online subs keep rising, and EA being EA.  Oh, and hide the donuts.
